Sustainability

“Deep Yellow places primary importance on sustainability and the Company approaches its responsibilities with purpose. I encourage you to read our latest Sustainability Report for insights into how we intend to make a substantial contribution to the clean energy transition.”

Victoria Jackson, Chair – Sustainability Committee

Deep Yellow is focused on creating long-term value for our shareholders, our stakeholders and the communities in which we operate. Aside from operational performance, a key component to successfully achieving this goal is through the efficient, effective and ongoing development and implementation of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) pillars.

Each year, Deep Yellow releases a Sustainability Report that is prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards. The Sustainability Report’s contents are based on the outcome of the materiality assessment conducted as part of the GRI process for the status of Deep Yellow’s developments.

Deep Yellow’s commitment to safely and responsibly become a globally significant, reliable and long-life supplier of uranium to the nuclear power market underscores our potential to play a key role in worldwide decarbonisation efforts. The need for more nuclear power was highlighted at COP28, where more than 20 countries signed on to the goal of tripling nuclear energy capacity to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

We are committed to investing in the capacity building of the local communities in which we operate through active contributions at all levels. We recognise coexistence and mutual respect as key elements of good stakeholder relations. Guided by the Company’s Community Relations Policy, we aim to balance economic, environmental and social needs across all phases of project development.

We are proud to report on our community development activities and achievements in Namibia, where our flagship and most advanced project, Tumas, is located. We encourage you to read our latest edition of the Corporate Social Responsibility Namibia Report.
