Our Approach to Sustainability

Deep Yellow is focused on creating long-term value for its shareholders, stakeholders and the communities in which we operate. A key pillar to successfully achieving this goal is through the efficient, effective and ongoing implementation of environmental, social and governance (ESG) pillars.

With a management team that has a proven and successful history in the uranium sector, we understand the importance of sustainability and making it core to how we operate, as we move into pre-development and beyond. By taking an early approach to the implementation of key ESG practices and principles, Deep Yellow is focused on creating a company-wide approach to sustainable practices and developing the Company and our projects in the right way.

Our commitment to managing the ESG pillars was evident by the release of our first Sustainability Report in 2020.  Our latest Sustainability Report covers the year end 30 June 2021 and builds on the previous report, particularly in the area of the Tumas Project as we proceed with the current DFS.  This provides transparency around advancing Deep Yellow in a sustainable manner.

Our focused approach is already delivering on our stated goals, with Deep Yellow receiving the Namibian Safety Award for the past three years with the Inter-Mining Safety Certificate (Category 2 – Exploration Companies) awarded by the Namibian Chamber of Mines.

The Company was also proud to receive the Australia-Africa Minerals & Energy Group (AAMEG) Emerging ESG Leader Award (ESG in the context of a uranium explorer in pre-development) for its inaugural 2020 Sustainability Report.  This Award was sponsored by the Minerals Council of Australia.
